Nighttime, when they had — the things — could be sixty, seventy. The cars would come up the back road. The back road wasn't supposed to exist on any map. It was just a fire road. Except it wasn't.\n\nInterviewer: Did you ever see anyone you recognized?\nJanet: I'm not going to name names. I'll lose my pension. I'll lose more than my pension. I'll say this. The man from the REDACTED commercial in the 1990s. The one with the song. He was there, three times, in 2002. Once with a girl who was too young. The other two times alone.\n\nInterviewer: Tell me about the basement.\nJanet: I was not allowed in the basement. None of the staff were. But I went down there once. I shouldn't have. I went down there because REDACTED and I wanted to know.\n\nInterviewer: And?\nJanet: There was a door. The door had a REDACTED on it. Not English. Not anything I recognized. I touched it. The door was warm. The door REDACTED. I ran. I never went back. I quit two weeks later. They sent me a letter offering me severance. I never signed for severance. I didn't earn severance. They sent it anyway. I burned it.\n\nInterviewer: Have you been followed since the interview was scheduled?\nJanet: Every day. Black SUV. Parks across from the REDACTED. The driver waves.
